Simply Supplier Showcase: Blush Flowers...

What is company name?
Blush Bespoke Flowers

What is your line of business?
Floral Design

How and why the company begin?
Developed a passion for Floral Design over many years working for other companies and needed to bring my own talents alive!

Are you married? If so tell us a little about your wedding….
Yes. I was married on the 19th December 1992 – it was the most beautiful, freezing cold (glistening ground) but bright blue sky day. We had vinatge cars for transportation of ourselves and our Bridal party. The Bridesmaids' car broke down on the way to the Wedding Breakfast! Apart from that, the day was perfect – just wonderful (though a long time ago! It still makes me feel warm and happy when I think about the day). We are still married!!! and have two amazing teenage children.

Why do brides come to you?
They find me through Google searches, venue and word-of-mouth recommendations – they always comment that they thought my photos from previous weddings are the attraction to contact me.

What is your favourite design and why?
Every wedding is unique and bespoke so don't have specific designs.

What is the most popular item you supply and why?
I guess Roses are the most popular flower but lots of Brides do say they don't like roses too...
Where do you get your inspiration from?
The Brides I meet – every one has their own dream and image of how they wish to portray themseleves on their most special of days – I just wave my magic wand and turn those dreams in to reality!!! :-)
What is in store for you in 2013/14
Vintage is still highly popluar – though there is more of a trend away from the 'loose hand-picked from the english country garden' in a relaxed village fete style towards a more 'glamorous vintage' ie incorporating lots of crystal type details.

Who would be your dream client, and what sort of design would you envisage for them?
Anyone with a relaxed, happy, excited personalaity (the huge majority of our Brides) – anything they can dream of.

What would be your top tips for brides when searching for a supplier in your industry?
Ensure you are seing examples of their work and not random pictures other people have created,  do not believe anyone who says they can 'do that for less' – quality, relaiblility, knowledge of flowers and what works well together and client recommendations/testimonials will all ensure you have can relax on you Big Day.

Also (and this applies to all suppliers) If they are boasting this award and that award, ask them how they entered these competitions and how they won them – there are too many 'awards' these days and most of them require the supplier to pay an entrance fee + they badger anyone and everyone to vote for them (as many times as they can) – it's all very transparent in the Wedding Industry, but how many Brides and Groom realise this goes on?

Tell us something super interesting about you or your business that we wouldn’t already know…?
Well, not sure about anything 'super intersting' but we have supplied flowers for Brides from all over the world – the internet / email / even social media such as Facebook and Twitter have made this possible and I also keep in touch with Brides for many years afterwards via Facebook – it's great!

Where are you based and where can you supply?
Based north of Ripon, near to Bedale. Can supply anywhere but tends to be Yorkshire.

How can I get in touch to discuss my requirements or place an order?
Email: blushsharon@gmail.com (that's the most reliable) or info@blushbespokeflowers.co.uk
Email is generally the best way to make an initial enquiry as I can respond when not working on wedding flowers.

Why do you like to work with Simply Bows and Chair Covers?
Because the quality and fit of your chair covers is superior to others I have seen. I have worked with Alexandra Stead @SimplyHarrogate on a number of occasions – her attention to detail is exemplary and she is always so friendly, approachable and always willing to suggest different/unique colour options.
