Simply a real wedding: Angie marries David in her Northumberland wedding....

What are your first names?

Angie and David

Where and when did you get engaged?

We were on holiday in Reykjavik Iceland. We had been to see the Northern Lights (which was breath taking) and David proposed in the warmth of our cosy hotel room.

What was your wedding date?

5th June 2013

 Where did you get married?

St Mary’s Church followed by a reception at Eshott Hall, Morpeth Northumberland

Why did you choose your venue?

We visited almost every venue in and around the area and chose Eshott Hall due to its homely feel and beautiful location. The boutique venue stuck in our mind and we fell in love with the amazing entrance hall and honeymoon suite.

Did you have a “theme”?

No, we didn’t want to restrict the colours/ décor. We always wanted to have wild flowers in every shade of green all over the venue and the church and make the flowers the main decoration focus.

What was your wedding colour scheme?

Mainly, because of the amount of flowers, green was the main colour used.

Why did you choose Simply Bows and Chair Covers and what were they like to work with?

As we are based in London (for work) I used the internet A LOT during the planning and SBCC they had so many fantastic photos showing what they have. I set up a meeting and decided very quickly on the prettiest chair backs and runners!

What sort of dress did you choose and where from?

My wedding dress was by Jenny Packham and Kathryn Trueman Bridal & Occassions in Morpeth did all of the alterations, I got the most amazing wedding shoes from there too!

What did your bridesmaids wear?

Dresses by Adrianna Pappel in peacock blue, they looked beautiful.

Who was your photographer?

Our good friend Emily Bennett- Coles, she lives and works in New York. She made it so relaxing and caught us in the moment- we don’t like posing!

What “special touches” did you add to your day?

My Auntie designed and made all of the wedding stationary, my mum and I decorated over 50 jars collected over the last year and they were places all over the venue (on the stairs in the evening they looked very pretty) a family friend made some amazing cupcakes for the evening party and our amazing wedding cake was made by Heatherslaw Bakery. We also hired champagne saucers as they look so elegant and fit with the feel of the venue and asked my cousins band to play in the evening.

What was your favourite part of the day?

Walking up the aisle with my dad was pretty overwhelming! Seeing Dave for the first time was very special, my dad’s speech was lovely and seeing all our family and friends together in the ballroom was so nice.

Where did you go on honeymoon?

We went to Disney World in Florida, we flew the next day!

What would be your top tip for another bride to be?

Enjoy your engagement, it’s a special time so don’t start planning a wedding straight away (we were engaged for about 2 years post wedding) take your time and do research with the planning, don’t rush choosing your dress! Also, you don’t need to look at other people’s weddings for ideas because everyone is different- do what you two want to do because on the day you want to enjoy yourselves too- remember the day is for you two as well!

Simply Elegant

Many of our clients like the idea of  keeping their wedding colour scheme very neutral but are scared in case it looks too plain or boring.  So we thought we would show you how stunning it can look.....

This wedding took place at Eshott Hall in September 2011 on a beautiful sunny day. Simply Bows and Chair Covers dressed the chairs in white chair covers with organza sashes tied with a pearl clasp.  Whilst bels flowers worked their magic, creating beautiful centre pieces using crisp white seasonal blooms in various different silver vases.

Simply Delicious: A Simply Bows Real Wedding

The setting was the beautiful Eshott Hall in Northumberland and Lucy, the bride, created a magical & truly scrumptious wedding there. Lucy's fave part of her wedding was her candy buffet & cake by Choccy Woccy Doo dah which took centre stage in the ballroom.
Each table was named by a different sweet & coloured accordingly with sweetie favours and menu cards made by her sister. Her sweetie themed table plan was also created by her other sister which was really eye catching as you will see below. What a lucky girl to have so much creativity in one family!
As Simply Bows and Chair Covers we dressed all the chairs in our white chair covers & ivory bows to match in with their theme. Here are a few pictures of how yummy it all looked.

All the hard work has really paid off and it  was lovely to see the whole family working together to bring all of the couple's ideas to life.
We wish you all the happiness from Simply Bows & Chair Covers & as the confetti holders said.....
Happily ever after, THE END!
