Simply a real life bride; Claire and her Dundee wedding

What are your first names?

Claire and Stephen

Where and when did you get engaged?

We got engaged in Paris on Hogmonay.  Stephen had planned the whole trip as a surprise and proposed on a Horse and Carriage ride.

 What was your wedding date?

15th June 2013

 Where did you get married?

Baxter Park Pavilion, Dundee

Why did you choose your venue?

We live right across from Baxter Park and see the Pavilion from our window every day.  The pavilion is a beautiful building with lots of character and a fabulous setting for a wedding ceremony.

 Did you have a “theme”?

We didn’t have a particular theme for the wedding.  We did name all our tables at the wedding meal after landmarks in Paris and incorporated a lot of butterflies into our day (butterflies on invitations, top table bows and place settings)

What was your wedding colour scheme?

Coral and Ivory

Why did you choose Simply Bows and Chair Covers and what were they like to work with?

Simply Bows and Chair Covers were always our first choice.  The team were absolutely fantastic to work with, extremely professional and met our every need.  They were able to advise us on how to create the perfect setting for our wedding reception.  I was absolutely over the moon with how the room looked on our wedding day.  Everything was perfect.

What sort of dress did you choose and where from?

My dress was from The Bride in Broughty Ferry.  It was an A-line organza and lace dress with flower detail over one shoulder.  It had a sweetheart neckline and chapel train.

What did your bridesmaids wear?

Our bridesmaids wore Coral dresses with sweetheart neckline and flower detail on the hip.

Who was your photographer?

Our photographer was Mark Barbieri, a photographer from Glasgow.

What “special touches” did you add to your day?

I organised a Morgan plus 4 sports car as a surprise for Stephen.  We hired it for the weekend and Stephen drove to the ceremony with his Best Man in the car.

What was your favourite part of the day?

We enjoyed every second of our wedding day.  It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and celebrating with us.

Where did you go on honeymoon?

On our Honeymoon we went to Orlando for 8 nights.   We then drove to Miami for three nights and then went on a cruise to The Bahamas.

What would be your top tip for another bride to be?

Smile and Enjoy every minute of your day because it will pass very quickly
