Simply Bows Real Life Bride: Cherie....

Today we interview a Simply Bows and Chair Covers Real Bride Cherie who married her lovely hubby Paul at Langley Castle Hotel...

Tell us about your engagement...

We got engaged on the 7th April 2007, I was outside hanging out the washing and my oldest daughter came and give me a ring and said “mammy I think you should marry daddy” when I looked up Paul was standing there smiling!

Where and when did you get married?

We got married on Friday the 23rd March 2012 . We got married at Langley Castle. We choose Langley because the venue is amazing and our children loved the idea that mammy and daddy were getting married in a real castle. Also it’s close to where all our family and friends live.

Did you have a wedding theme?

We didn’t really have a theme, although I just wanted it to look amazing.
Our colour scheme was dark blue and cream.
The first time we looked around Langley simply bows were setting up for a weeding and when we walked into the function room it took our breath away. We instantly knew we had to have chair covers, chair covers were never in the budget but after what we show we had to have them! Kristy from Simply Bows and Chair Covers was recommended to us by the venue and she was brilliant to work with, she listened to what we wanted and then came up with what we asked for and the attention to detail was out of this world. We received so many comments about the finished room. The worst bit was having to wait nearly 1 year before I could see it all set up!

Tell us about your dress...

I wore an Amanda Wyatt dress which I bought 18 months before my wedding, it was the first dress I saw and fell in love with it straight away, I even nearly had a fight with some other bride who wanted the same dress!

It had just been reduced from £800 to £300 that morning. I went for bodice style dress with a long train, I loved wearing this dress, and have even had it on a few times since I got married just because I feel amazing in it!

And your bridesmaids...

They wore navy blue dresses with a cream sash around the middle, and my little flower girl wore a navy blue and cream dress, this dress was my bargain.

Who photographed your big day?

Sarah Thew took our photos, Sarah and her husband Peter was amazing on our day so friendly and were amazing with our guests. I love my wedding photos so much!

Tell us about the little touches...

Our table names were named after streets that meant something to us i.e. Hill Street was where we had our first kiss, hallstile bank our first house etc.

The most amazing part of the day for me, was when I started to walk down the aisle and looked up and saw Paul, I fell in love with him all over again!

Did you have a honeymoon?

We didn’t have a honey moon, as we couldn’t go away due to having three  children. But we did have a 2 nights in York which was amazing.

What is your special tip for other Bride's to be?

My tip would be enjoy planning and do what you want not what other people want you to do, IT’S YOUR WEDDING!!

'Morning After The Wedding' Album... latest trend!

As with most wedding trends the UK tend to follow the states but will this one catch on?

American bride and grooms are now asking photographers to capture shots the morning after the wedding not just on the day... and we don't mean eating breakfast!

Wedding photographers normally capture your intimate moments of the day and of course all of your group shots of friends and family. But would you like them to come to your hotel suite the next morning and capture a totally different set of intimate moments?

Leading trend setters in this field are New Jersey based Femme Fatale and Detroit based A Girl in Love who both charge between $500 and $1000 for this morning after service alone! They capture the newlyweds in various states of undress in the shower and even in the bed amongst the ruffled covers!

Ladies of the UK... what are your thoughts???

Simply Medieval... Simply Style

At Simply Bows and Chair Covers we love working with you and your wedding theme, helping to inspire you with our fabulous range of fabrics to enhance your theme with our stylish ideas.

On today's blog we thought we would take the Medieval theme and show you how you can create this theme but with a contemporary and most importantly, stylish twist....

This gold medieval wedding we dressed was modernised gold charger plates complimenting our gold, bronze sashes tied in side bows against a rustic medieval backdrop

These sweet miniature order of service scrolls from By Wendy add a touch of medieval splendour to the wedding service itself

This sophisticated medieval look was created by Simply Bows and Chair Covers dressing white chair covers with a Midnight Blue Organza sash overlayed with a champagne flock sash tied in a drape and finished with pearls.

Why not replace a traditional wedding cake with a cheese wedding cake like this beauty from The Northumberland Cheese Co.

Simply Champagne Flock looks incredibly effective and elegant yet fits a Medieval backdrop perfectly.

By Wendy created this beautiful Regency design that gives Medieval Stationary a contemporary edge that oozes sophistication

Simply Bows and Chair Covers' Gold Bands add a touch of glamour to a medieval wedding taking it from traditional to sumptuous.

Simply Supporting CHUF

The Children's Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital is one of the only two centres in the UK offering podiatrist heart transplant and bridge to transplant, with transplant numbers increasing to the point where the unit now provides almost half of the UK's pediatric transplants.

They also have the expertise and support systems through their transplant service to allow them to undertake high-risk surgery. The Children’s Heart Unit is also the only service providing before birth care with seamless transition to adulthood.

Providing world class care, the unit is structured to deliver the best possible results for critically ill babies, children and young people.  On Wednesday 15th August 2012 Seb4CHUF arranged a Charity Ball at Close House Hotel to raise funds for the unit.  Seb4Chuf was created by Nadine and Ivan Hollingsworth who’s son Sebastian had to undergo major heart surgery at the unit.  So far they  have raised nearly £250,000 for the unit!!

Simply Bows and Chair Covers chose CHUF as our nominated charity this year and were thrilled to dress the marquee for this wonderful event. Flowers and table centres were designed by Wedding Flowers for You. The theme was Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and the overall effect of the marquee looked amazing (if we say so ourselves!) and they even had their own Oompa Loompa's! Here are some photo's...

Simply Breathtaking Wedding Venue... in Hawaii!

Every bride dreams of the perfect wedding day and each wants her big day to be just that little bit different from her friends, colleagues and family.

After a great deal of research, Supermodel Kathy Ireland decided she was on to a winner renting out her luxury Hawaii holiday home which she bought from John Travolta and his wife, to happy couples planning their perfect wedding....

The romantic venue can host 65 guests and has access to its own private beach, swimming pool, waterfall and outdoor jacuzzi looking over the ocean.

No doubt Kathy's well planned latest business venture will be a fantastic success but we bet it has a fantastic price tag too! Well... it's certainly different ladies....who fancies it?!
